What type of work would you do?
Freelancers typically support content production and localization using Canva, contributing to both ongoing content and campaign-based initiatives. Proficiency in Canva is required.
Design freelancers may work on:
- Templates (social media, presentations, posters, etc.)
- Video templates (mobile-friendly templates)
- Marketing and campaign assets
- Editorial or educational content
- Brand-aligned creative outputs
- Design reviews for outputs on different content pipelines (providing feedback, ensuring quality, and validating alignment with briefs and design standards)
Examples of formats include:
- Instagram posts & stories
- Presentations
- Posters & flyers
- Logos & branding assets
- Banners and ads
- Short-form video content
Design work should reflect:
- Local visual trends and cultural relevance
- Strong layout, typography, and composition skills
- Variety and originality across outputs
Copy freelancers may work on:
- Template copy (headlines, body text, CTAs).
- Campaign messaging.
- Localization and adaptation (not just translation).
- SEO-aligned or metadata content (when applicable).
- Educational or editorial content.
- Retagging templates in the library from SEO gaps signals.
- Review copy production outputs on different content pipelines (providing feedback, ensuring quality, and validating alignment with briefs).
Copy work should:
- Be culturally relevant and natural in the local language
- Align with Canva’s tone of voice
- Be clear, concise, and user-friendly
- Adapt meaningfully to local contexts (not literal translations
Both roles will work closely with the Design Lead and Canva team to bring ideas to life, creating content that could be used by millions around the world.
